Mike's Van Halen Page

"Well Hello Glen Helen Regional Parrrk!!! Look at all the people here tonighhhhtt!!"

-- David Lee Roth, former Van Halen frontman, at the US Festival, 1983.

This page is mostly a collection of VH-related material that I have "acquired".  There are several sites that will give you the total package.

On stage at the MTV Video Music Awards

Much has been written about the departure of Sammy Hagar from the band in the summer of 1996, the re-emergence and subsequent departure of David Lee Roth, and the entrance and subsequent departure of Gary Cherone.

For me, the original VH lineup kicked ass. I never quite accepted Sammy into the band, even though some of the songs on Balance were amazing.  I liked Extreme, especially at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert in 1993.

We'll never know the *real* stories, so for now I'm waiting for VAN HALEN MACH IV.  I liked the VH3 album; I like the fact that they play the old tunes live again; I love Ed's guitar sound again; Gary is a good lead singer; but I felt like something was missing.  I hope that soon The Mighty Van Halen will kick ass once again!!!
